Dennis Marstall, who served as former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrorys liaison to the community, has been named vice president of community investment and impact with United Way of the Central Carolinas.

In his new position, Marstall will work to determine needs in the five-county area served by United Way.

While McCrory was mayor, Marstall helped oversee working relationships with business, nonprofit and faith communities, along with neighborhood associations. He was heavily involved with the Mayors Mentoring Alliance and the Childrens Alliance. Most recently, he headed city government initiatives with business retention and growth, and public-private partnerships.

Dennis has a remarkable rapport with governmental officials, health and human service agencies, small and large businesses, neighborhoods, and many other organizations, said Jane McIntyre, executive director of United Way of the Central Carolinas.
